In light of the UN climate change report, unprecedented change is needed to halt global warming. Hence, CityU MUN cordially invites all our members to attend Saturday Simulations organised by Hong Kong American Centre (HKAC) and The Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF), to debate on the policy issues of Climate Change and its relevance to Hong Kong’s future.

Students will form an interdisciplinary team of 4-5 students addressing the question: How can the UN strengthen implementation of the Paris Accords on Climate Change? What should HK do to meet its own goal of reducing carbon intensity by 20% by 2020, and more by 2030?

Twelve country teams will consist of representatives from the Energy, Business and NGO sectors. The challenge for this COP: How to fulfil the nationally determined commitments (NDCs) made by over 150 countries at the Paris Accord in COP 21 in December 2015?
