City University of hong kong Model united nations

3rd - 4th February 2018

A Letter from the Secretary General

Dear Delegates, Chairs, and Friends of CityUMUN,

It is with the utmost pleasure that I invite you to CityUMUN 2018. The conference will be held on 3 and 4 February 2018, right in the heart of Hong Kong, the epicentre of trade and geopolitics in South East Asia. Founded seven years ago, CityUMUN has grown to a conference of caliber that offers the ideals of integration and the international experience. We extend a very warm welcome to you to become part of this movement.

After perfecting our conference in previous years, we have now opened applications to delegates from the international stage. This year, our conference will take a step forward and be the host of delegations from around the globe, offering delegates a multicultural and global experience.

Through the CityUMUN conference, you will develop what we call 关系 (“guanxi” - the power of social connections) by building ties both in our committee as well as at our social events. This year, we are proud to host the International Night on 3 February 2018. This university-wide event will comprise both the MUNers at the conference, as well as students outside the conference, enabling you to further broaden your social horizons. CityU MUN delivers the opportunity to delegates to cultivate your global network. Because we believe, in the end, your Network is your Net Worth.

Our staff this year are equipped to provide you with the academic rigour in committees concomitant to that of a world class conference. We strive to deliver an experience that will keep you riveted, with bodies like the Press, Crisis Committees and more. Join us as we engage in debate, diplomacy and collaboration that will flower into resolutions. It is our hope that these resolutions be carried out of committee and turned into modes of action, no matter how small, sometime in the future.

Thus it is with excitement that I invite you to CityU MUN 2018. We look forward to having you with us!

Yours Sincerely,

Liam Collins
